![]() Interment in Jerusalem Cemetery, at Emmerton. Hanks, aged about forty years, a merchant of Richmond County, died last week at his home near Sharps. Many relatives survive the deceased and we sympathize with them in their lamentations. Reynolds, pastor of Rappahannock Baptist Church, conducted the funeral services at the home of the deceased sister and concluded them at Rappahannock church, where her remains were interred on the afternoon of Saturday, February 3rd. We feel that our church and community have sustained the loss of one, whose precepts were worthy of our examples, not only in the past which can only be recalled by memory and lasting impressions but in the future, when we, perhaps shall mediate upon and consider her life as a worthy preceptress. She joined Rappahannock Baptist Church when she was eleven years of age and continued as a member thereof until her decease. Her amiability and proficiency as a public school teacher for several years throughout several counties of the Northern Neck, and her faithfulness as a church member and worker had won for her the confidence and good will of all who knew her. She was highly esteemed by all of her acquaintances, which were innumerable. Her health had not been good for some time. ![]() 31, to enter into a better world on high. Īfter an illness of several weeks, of pneumonia, Wellford Gray, aged 17 years, son of W.B. Garland, a prominent citizen of Richmond county, died at his residence, Walnut Lawn, on Monday night. Fones, of Richmond county, died a few days ago. He was universally esteemed and this community will long cherish a recollection of his many virtues. He was a member of the Convention that revised the Constitution of this State. Campbell has been a practising lawyer for the last thirty years, and was, at the time of his death, Attorney for the commonwealth, for the counties of Lee, Scott, Russell, and Washington. ĭied - In this county, on Monday last, Edward Campbell, Esq., in the 52nd year of his age. A widow, three daughters and two sons survive him. Bryan, aged about 64 years, a prominent Methodist of Emmerson, Richmond county, died this morning. He greatly loved his grandchildren, Bennett Church III, Anthony Church, Rosemary Jean O'Day (Josh), Ivy Trinite (Matthew), Katelyn Beitzel (Kevin), Wilson Treese (Louisa), Kendall Treese, Morgan Wimbraugh, Grace, Liam, & Colton Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosemary, and four children, Bennett Jr (Diana) of McKenney, VA, Annette Treese (John) of Alliance, OH, John (Tracy) of McKenney, VA, and Jeff (Jennifer) of Midlothian, VA. He was preceded in death by parents Corbett and Edith Church, and biological father Ben Creed, who died in Bennett's infancy. In 1962 he married Rosemary Stephenson, of Bishop, WV. Bennett was born on Octoin Yukon, WV, the son of Corbett and Edith Church. It is with great sorrow that the family of Bennett Earnest Church, age 80, of McKenney, VA, announce his passing on Jin Richmond, VA.
